EDMODO, A SOCIAL LEARNING NETWORK

Hi,

This entry is one of my favourite part of ICT in ELT. It is about Edmodo, a secure social learning network for teachers and learners. This network has some similar features like many other social networking webpages, where, one could post something and others could comment on the post, and tag people and many others. However, this network is a secure social network which focus on learning and for teachers and learners use in and outside classroom. It provides a secure platform for the teachers to share, connect and  collaborate content and educational devices, and also have access to class discussion and learners' homeworks, grades and notifications.

MEETING THE WORD CLOUDS

Hi everyone,

Today's entry is about Word Clouds. Word Clouds or also known as Tag Clouds is a visual presentation of words which typically used to point out the keywords of a text or to visualise a free form of a text. The frequency or importance of words is shown through font size or colour. Here, I am going to introduce two type of Word clouds that I learnt during my ICT lesson.

This entry is on Podcast and Pod casting. Podcast is a multimedia digital file made available in the internet for downloading to a portable devices like media player, laptops, iPad and others. Pod casting is all about making the multimedia file available as a podcast.

This website is easy to use because it could just record your podcast and upload it wherever you require with just two clicks. The link above would prove this.

Storybird is a website, which allows anyone to create their own amazing stories with beautiful pictures in seconds. It also acts a a educational platform for teachers and learners to experience the usefulness of story telling.

Today's entry is on an amazing website called , . This fantastic website helps to make your presentation (Powerpoint) comes to live by inserting voice for the slides presentation. When my tutor introduce this website to us during our ICT lesson, I was amazed because this tool could be very helpful for classroom presentation for both the teachers and learners.

SONGS IN ELT!!!

BUBBLR, THE INSTANT PRESENTER...

Hi everyone,

This entry is on instant presentation like instant noodles, just add hot water, the noodle is ready to eat!!! Here, we are utilizing the tool called Bubblr which acts as a medium (or hot water) for your instant presentation. This website allows the users to create their own presentation using pictures from the world's number one pictures depository, Flickr with captions. Here is a sample of a presentation which I made using this web about Malaysian Food. Hope this could be a good preview how this web works.

ELT AND TECHNOLOGY WITH RUSSELL STANNARD

This entry is about embedding youtube videos in your blog. The above video is about Russell Stannard not Russell Peters! talking about integration of ICT in ELT. Russell Stannard is my ICT tutor for my ICT module this year. He has been really helpful in teaching on how to use ICT in ELT. I have learned and improved my ICT knowledge with his class.
